Heritage Restoration
GHG was contracted by a tier 1 builder to undertake a heritage restoration project that involved extensive masonry repairs and rebuilding.
This project required inspections and approvals from multiple stakeholders, making it both challenging and rewarding.
One of the key tasks involved temporarily opening up a brick arch, which was supported by a lintel to prevent collapse during the work. The brickwork was partially removed to accommodate the installation of a structural beam, in line with engineering specifications.
Once the beam was securely installed, the bricks were carefully reinstated to their original position, restoring the integrity and authenticity of the structure.
